Really??? Currently unranked! They would be a 3 loss team with wins over Florida Atlantic, Arky St, Louisiana Lafayette, Baylor, Kansas, and Colorado. Teams that combined for a 25-45 record. They still have a small mountain to climb in Texas but they realistically have a win and your in scenario. You know Pelini will have a good game plan and his players will be ready. Seems like more deserving teams based on there body of work over the course of the season would be more deserving of a BCS bid.
Not necessarily. Look at Kansas St vs OU in 2003. If Texas loses it will just play in the Big 12 BCS bowl instead of the BCS National Championship game I would think.
If Texas loses to the Huskers they may go to a BCS bowl as an at large bid, but they won't go to the Fiesta bowl. That's for the Big 12 champ which in your scenario is the Huskers.
Or they could do the same OU did in 03, lose the Big 12 championship game and still play in the BCS championship game.
I think that since then they made a rule that you have to at least win your conference to play in the NC game. So if Nebraska wins, which I doubt, neither them or Texas will be in the NC game. Which brings up an interesting scenario like who would be the Florida/Bama winner's opponent then? I guess it would have to be either Cincy or TCU?
