vlc doesn't play mp4s to my knowledge. but mp4s are native to quicktime so that's what you should watch it in. or you should just burn it to dvd.

it's a high resolution H.264 file. You need a modern CPU to play it smoothly... probably a low end dual-core CPU. If you're trying it with an old school Pentium 4 at around 2GHZ then forget it, it'll be choppy. If you can't get it to play on a Pentium D or above you're either doing too much in the background or you're doing something else wrong. Download the lower resolution version if the larger one is too choppy.
I fixed it. Apparently hotmail accounts reject the confirmation email. It worked with a yahoo account.
