And ESPN does a little word play to make some old news sound new: NCAA hits LSU with 1 year probation, sanctions
ya know, we have a forum for flaming and trash talking. if you are going to be an obnoxious troll, at least learn the proper forum.:rolleye33:
I knew this was coming but still amazed to see the difference of a team like LSU getting complimented by the NCAA for doing everything we should have done compared to someone like Ga Tech just getting hit pretty hard for not being up front and proactive. It should have been 2 years of probation but we only got one because of the extra time and effort we put forward so they basically counted that year as one year of probation completed. We also return to our 85 limit this year.
true. besides the being open and not stonewalling, the fact that the player was benched and never played a down, and that the coach was taken off the recruiting trail so he would not have contact with recruits before being fired, are pretty significant. not only was nothing gained, not one single play, but steps were immediately taken to keep it from happening again. big difference between that, and covering up.
It is still frustrating how ESPN and others have played it like we are a rogue program and emphasize it is a "MAJOR" violation and equate it to Tressel's lies etc. Also they try to tie us into the Lyles mess at Oregan and all of it together. I guess haters goto hate:geaux:
Got to do something when its the slow time of the year. LSU did its part. This is fair to both sides. With all the things that have come out lately, LSU has been the more proactive school, with Les the more proactive coach.
