I'm sure they will get it together. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080506/ap_on_sp_co_ne/ncaa_academic_report_2
Baseball players would probably do better in school if they put the same amount of energy into school as they do in making sure their shaved arms look good. Me and my hair infested arms may be biased though.
It's a bit of a joke when you look at the teams that might face a post season ban. Teams that have posted two consecutive scores of less than 900 on the NCAA's academic progress report. A third consecutive score next year would ban the teams from postseason competition. • California State-Fresno -- men's basketball • California State-Sacramento -- football • Centenary -- baseball, men's basketball • East Carolina -- men's basketball • Florida International -- baseball • Hampton -- men's basketball • Indiana State -- men's tennis • Jacksonville State -- football - Hmmm • Louisiana-Lafayette -- men's basketball • Montana State-Bozeman -- football • Morgan State -- women's volleyball • Murray State -- football • New Mexico State -- men's basketball • New Orleans -- baseball • Oral Roberts -- baseball • San Jose State -- football, men's cross country, men's soccer • Southern -- football • Temple -- football • Tennessee-Chattanooga -- football, wrestling • Texas-Arlington -- baseball • Texas Southern -- men's tennis • Weber State -- football
Actually, the bball program was very close to being in trouble and must go through May without losing a player to stay out of it. 2 transfer who left the baseball program quit going to class last year and that hurt the baseball team.
Same with USC's basketball program. I'm hoping that Mayo still plans to enroll in summer school so that when he leaves school, his grades are in tact. Davon Jefferson has now announced he's leaving and is probably the worst student on the team.
Chad Jones is kinda in the same boat as McKnight- he dropped a class and is academically ineligible but will pick it up in the summer.
