Give me a break. Emotionally drained? Do you honestly think the football team stayed up day and night spilling tears for students they probably didn't even know? The media tried to tie the football team in with the shooting to make a good story, when in reality, I doubt it affected them in an extreme way, much less emotionally drained them. I don't buy that.

By the way, what makes you think OSU is so much better than VT? I happen to think VT is a slightly better team.

Well for starters, OSU's offense puts up 70 more yards a game, has the ball an average of 2:30 more a game, and scores an average of 3 more points a game.

On defense, OSU gives up 70 yards less a game, gives up 5 fewer points a game, is ahead of VT in every major category except TO's, and has forced more 3 and outs than any team in the nation.

I understand you blew your last bowl opponent out but that was Notre Shame. I don't think our D will force many 3 and outs against LSU but they are very worthy competition.

I do believe Ohio St is a better team, but you have to consider the competition. VT played a much tougher schedule than Ohio St.

Honestly guys we could debate this for the next month and neither one of us would be willing to concede this argument but I'll show you a post from earlier and you can take it FWIW. It is something along the same lines.

Oh yeah...and what makes people think that all these SEC teams are better. Because your ranked doesn't make you better. It makes you more popular with the media. For example, Auburn and Penn State are both 8-4, both traditionally strong programs, yet LSU struggles to get by Auburn because they are great defensively, and OSU kicks the crap out of PSU in Happy Valley at night and PSU is just another mediocre Big Ten team. Whether you put OSU and LSU or PSU and Auburn out on the field it will be a slug fest no matter what. Let's look at Kentucky, #8 at one point in the season and beat absolutely no one to get there. Lost to a 6-6 South Carolina team the week prior and goes out and beats LSU. LSU didn't go through that much of a tougher schedule than OSU, they just got lucky that the media has a love fest with the SEC. The SEC beats up on eachother week in and week out? Get a clue thats what happens with everyone during conference play and the Big 10 has just as many teams the are bowl eligible this as the SEC.

I have a ton of respect for tOSU and it's tradition. On Jan 7 for 3 or 4 hours I won't have it. Cheers for a great game and an LSU victory. :milesmic:

I'd take Auburn by 14 over Penn St.

Come on, that's a joke right? Do Big 10 fans really think that? It's amazing how far delusions can go.

You are correct, every conference beats up on each other. The difference is that in the SEC it's good teams beating up on each other as opposed to mediocre teams.

Here are the Big 10 standings...

    Conference Overall Home Away W L PF PA W L PF PA STR W L W L Ohio State 7 1 245 103 11 1 384 128 W1 6 1 5 0 Illinois 6 2 221 157 9 3 345 234 W4 5 2 4 1 Michigan 6 2 203 148 8 4 313 243 L2 5 3 3 1 Wisconsin 5 3 215 212 9 3 366 280 W2 7 0 2 3 Penn State 4 4 204 177 8 4 370 211 L1 6 1 2 3 Iowa 4 4 139 179 6 6 222 225 L1 4 2 2 4 Michigan State 3 5 278 260 7 5 409 322 W2 5 2 2 3 Purdue 3 5 213 226 7 5 395 297 L3 5 2 2 3 Indiana 3 5 208 243 7 5 379 321 W1 5 2 2 3 Northwestern 3 5 207 307 6 6 310 372 L1 4 3 2 3 Minnesota 0 8 183 304 1 11 315 440 L10 1 6 0 5
We don't really have two powerhouses this year we have a bunch of good teams though and OSU played everyone but Indiana, Iowa and Northwestern and the only Big Ten bowl team that we played was Indiana. Is Miss St. better than Indiana? I'd be willing to bet Michigan St. and Purdue are.

And a look at the ACC...

    Atlantic Conference Overall Home Away W L PF PA W L PF PA STR W L W L Boston College 6 2 213 165 10 2 356 234 W2 6 1 4 1 Clemson 5 3 230 149 9 3 410 220 W1 5 2 4 1 Wake Forest 5 3 225 208 8 4 338 279 W2 5 1 3 3 Florida State 4 4 192 174 7 5 275 263 L1 5 1 2 4 Maryland 3 5 194 180 6 6 299 259 W1 3 3 3 3 NC State 3 5 144 248 5 7 249 339 L2 3 4 2 3 Coastal Conference Overall Home Away W L PF PA W L PF PA STR W L W L Virginia Tech 7 1 255 120 10 2 351 185 W4 6 1 4 1 Virginia 6 2 202 151 9 3 289 225 L1 5 1 4 2 Georgia Tech 4 4 160 173 7 5 313 231 L1 4 3 3 2 North Carolina 3 5 161 188 4 8 254 294 W1 4 2 0 6 Miami 2 6 146 232 5 7 247 312 L4 4 3 1 4 Duke 0 8 131 265 1 11 215 398 L9 0 5 1 6

They have 8 bowl eligible teams and I would like to know if we put the Big 10 up against the ACC who do you think would win those games. Fact is that teams are becoming more evenly matched across the board. I would go...
    OSU>VT
Ill>BC (argue all you want but Ill. beat OSU and lost by 2 to Mizzou, not a push over)
    scUM<Clem.
Wisc.> Virginia (Virginia won games, but 5 of those games were by 2 points or less)
    PSU>WF
    Iowa<FSU
    MSU<GT
    Purdue=Maryland
    Indiana>NC state
NW<Miami (although lol at miami checking in at 5-7)
    Minn.<<<<<<<<<<NC (they are terrible)

I see it at about 5-5-1 although the better teams in the Big 10 can easily take the better teams in the ACC. JMO take it FWIW.
