I dont know why this isnt bigger news. Bigger the Pete Rose. A ref (As we have learned against Auburn... Twice) plays a MAJOR role in the outcome of a game. And if this is true, every game this guy was the ref for is in question.

This guy has been said to bet on games he was a ref... Wow....

This to me is more dastardly then Rose. Rose was a manager sure he could bench his best players or put in a bad pitcher but still the players win or lose the game. This guy can effect every aspect of it. Specially in basketball where there are fouls constantly.

This story just broke...it could get huge.

It would go a long way to explaining why the NBA officiating is so much worse than the other leagues. Granted, it's harder to call, but not THAT much harder.

I can't wait for more to come out about this.

Anyone remember the youtube video of the ref "pumping his fist" after a Texas Longhorn TD?

Tim Donaghy is the man in question.

i actually always liked him, so that either means he is innocent, or he bet on the Rockets. :)

    ESPN is running a poll.

Which sport is currently facing the biggest crisis?
    MLB - Steroids (44%)
    NFL - Dog Fighting (21%)
    NBA - Referee Misconduct (35%)

I voted for the NBA, IMO players and officials fixing games is the worst thing that can happen to a sport.

i gave up on the nba years ago because of the randomness of the foul calls. i can never tell the difference between an offensive and defensive foul.

no doubt. that is why i said goodbye to boxing years ago.

I was so hoping it would be Bennett Salvator......he royally screwed the Mavs in the Finals against the Heat in Game 3 with his phantom foul.........he has to be in on it in some way!

That series should be examined with a microscope, though I suspect it might just show one big picture of Wade constantly penetrating and Nowitski cowering.
