Yeah I saw that earlier today on nba.com I have to admit I was surprised because he really could've racked up some money but maybe he decided to be faithful to a team for once. Millsap will be a major get for you all but he will be wine and dine from alot of teams.
No Avery wont be the guy, he doesnt fit with the players. He fired Curry because free agents didnt want to come play for him. Doug Collins or someone else will be the choice. From my conversation it will probably will be Collins, but he isnt 100% sold on him either. He will likely pick up Charlie V from the Bucks and Ben Gordon from the Bulls or Ariza from the Lakers in some form of a trade involving Tayshun Prince. The saga continues.
He knew that he wasn't going to make more than 12.5M with another team next year. Economy doesn't hurt and Detroit has other plans.
The problem on Utah's end is they can't afford him + Millsaps, so they will now try to trade Boozer. RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Jazz Will Look To Trade Boozer
Great News, I need to go check my Utah Jazz board to get the scoop on who we will go after. BTW, what do you think is going to happen with Yao. Can the Rockets afford to hold on to him with his uncertain future?
The Rockets probably will not sign Yao in 2010 -- unless it's for a huge discount. The Rockets will try to sign Gortat from the Magic (who is a really, really underrated player) and will try to resign Artest and will work on trading McGrady to the Suns for Amare or to the Raptors for Bosh. The Rockets figure without Yao + McGrady's contract on the books in 2010, they'd be able to keep Bosh in Texas, being he is a Texan.
Its always a gamble with guys like Yao, being from China, they tend to try to run his life. They have succeeded in running his body down to the ground.
double trouble for Utah. The Thunder will make an offer to Millsaps that Utah probably won't be able to match. Having Okur, Boozer and Korver all exercise their player options will hurt Utah big-time in the long run. RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Thunder Preparing Offer For Millsap
Utah has said they are going after Millsap with all they have unless it is an outrageous number. Bosh is someone I expect the Jazz to make a run at as well.
