I figured Kobe would win this easily.

No way Chris Paul is more valuable than Kobe .... Kobe is the best player at his position every single night.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lakers in the Finals vs the Celtics.

Kobe some nights isn't even the best Laker. Look at the nights Gasol gets 30 and 15.

Sure, some of that is because of the attention Kobe gets.

But for the most part, night in and night out, CP3 is the best Hornet.

I mean, Kobe is the MVP. But I don't think it's a runaway.

None of this has anything to do with whether he is deserving of an MVP.

I assume you're talking about last season when you mention "taking off" the regular season. Further, I'm not comparing Lebron to MJ as a player (too early for that). I used MJ to illustrate the point that one season has nothing to do with another.

The question is who is the most valuable player in the 2007-2008 season. Lebron is certainly in the mix and should finish no worse than second.

I'm not so sure they get waxed in the 2nd round. IMO it would be a coin flip. They match up well. The NBA playoff always come down to who can make the big buckets down the stretch. It's tough to match up with Lebron in that department (same with Kobe--which is why I think it's between L.A. and the Spurs in the West).

gasol will hurt kobe in the voting. though, he is actually playing just as well but you dont see him on sportscenter as much. he only took one shot and had 5 assists in the first quarter against the nuggets a few weeks ago...and they had a double digit lead.

It has to be between Paul and Kobe. I think whoever ends up with the better record should win the MVP.

no doubt. I bashed CP in the other thread for being a baby after their last loss, but that dude is a man-beast.

He was in beast mode last night and will be a force for many years.

I still think D. Williams is better, because I think D. Williams can beat you in more ways than CP can, but no doubt, you can't go wrong with either. They will both be 2 of the best PGs in league history when it's all said and done.

    well duh...

There will never be another Stockton.

but Shaq and/or Wilt isn't the best Laker center in history, but they are still both among the best of all-time.
