Yeah good call. I thought sure they would show up last night. I knew Russ would go off and he did. It is frustrating to watch because they are better than that. I'm not one to buy into the "they are too young" thing because they have been playing basketball for most of their lives. Nervous maybe, or perhaps they all of a sudden decided to collectively suck. I don't think I will even watch game 5.
I think game 5 will go down to the wire again and I'll be pulling for the Thunder to extend the series. If they can get it back to OKC, I still think they have a chance to win the series. The next one will be the toughest though. Even if you hate Lebron as a person, you have to respect his game on the court. He really does it all and there is nobody through the course of NBA history that you can compare him to.
No, but he is the most unique player in history. He passes like Magic, takes it coast to coast like no other, can shut down an elite PG like Rose, guard the other team's wing, or even bang inside with the bigs. He's fun to watch both due to highlight reel plays and also the little things that often go unnoticed. It is not possible for him to go down as the best player in history due to the way he joined up with Wade and Bosh in Miami. I heard one of his interviews a few months ago that hinted that he'd like to return to Cleveland at some point in his career. I guess that would be the only way he could possibly achieve legendary status. Nobody will ever duplicate Jordan's career and that's ok.
One of Jordan's greatest attributes was his uncanny ability to work the refs. Lebron is eerily similar to Jordan and Kobe in this regard.
Anybody see the dumbass from the Heat (I think it was Haslem) dump a Gatorade cooler on Spolstra? I mean, its ok in football or any other outdoor sport, but on a basketball court? Maybe he just got caught up in the heat of the moment and maybe I have no clue what it feels like to win a championship on an elite level, but I just thought that was a stupid move.
Do you think they deserve an asterisk; given that they did not play a full season? I know that no team did, but anything could have happened in the 16 games that were left off the schedule. James could have been injured, like Derek Rose. I'm not saying it would have happened, but you never know. Just food for thought and I'm curious about what others think about this.
I think they just got hot at the right time, and OKC choked at the same time. Of course, anything could've happened, and an injury to one of "the big three" would've been devastating to that team. We saw how bad they needed Bosh when he was out. An extra 16 games could've drastically affected the seeding of the playoffs also, that's something else to consider.
