for the same stuff as you posted.

people who only listen to the media think Houston is out because Yao is done, but the team plays better without him historically.

Houston is still a player in the race.

well houston is a horrible 4th quarter team, so it's not over.

but yes, that would be a great win.

1st one of significance without Yao.

Really? Well that goes to tell you how dumb I really am. I honestly thought that den wasn't that good.

Is this because you are a rockets fan? Or just because yao is out? Or is denver that good?

Remember no offense meaned, I am really curious.

    nah, it's cool. :)

it's a big win, because Denver is chasing Houston in the playoff standings.

I mean, they're not great, but they're 35-24. That's the 1st "real" win they have had since Yao is out, after beating 2 cupcakes.

Well either way it was a good solid win.

I like when a guy that is suppose to be the "superstar" goes out and the team picks up the slack! It is good stuff to watch!

Clair or anyone, I need to know if I understand how the seeding works this year.

Was the new rule put into place this year to prevent the top 2 seeds facing each other until the finals?

If I have this right, then the division leaders get the top 3 seeds unless 2 teams from the same division have the best record. Lets say it is the Spurs and Hornets (could be the Rockets if they pass up the Hornets) in the same division with the best records in the west. In this scenario:

    1 Spurs
    2 Hornets/Rockets
    3 Lakers
    4 Jazz

    Current Standings:

    1 Spurs
    2 Lakers
    3 Hornets
    4 Jazz
    5 Rockets
    6 Suns
    7 Mavs
    8 Warriors

If the Rockets pass up the Hornets then they would just swap places with the Hornets since the Lakers have the 2nd best record. \

Is this the gist of it?

And here I come with the real in the NBA, of how basketball is supposed to be played and not pandering to the media darlings of the league.

    Detroit Basketball.............................................

The Spurs vs Lakers will probably be the WCF.
    Pistons vs Celtics ECF

    Pistons vs Lakers

If you win your division, you have at least the 4th seed clinched. :)

    so yeah. you're right.

When the Rockets pass up the Hornets, they will become the 3-seed.
