:geaux: Totally agree Fish. Somebody needs to shyt or get off the pot and get this done. One way or the other! SOON!

And for how terrible the timing is, whoever gets the UM job is really gonna be up against the wall on recruiting. After today there are only 23 days 'till NSD. Not much time at all to secure/salvage a class of some sort, put a staff in place, etc. And from several articles I've read UM has already had some recruits de-commit & commit to other schools. Their class really seems to be falling apart. Gonna be tough on whoever gets the job. :LSU231:

Or the angle of getting rid of a OC when he wants too or "help them find another job" Not waiting on the AD approval...

Right, right, restructuring. I never said anything about paying him a higher salary. I want Miles to stay, but even I think $3.8 mil/yr is plenty money for him.

I have heard pro coaches talk about having full control of a program. Is college like that. Can miles ask for full control of a program such as who to hire and fire ,pay for assistants, schedule, and anything else football? Does anyone in college have this power and can les ask for such power? I would think if miles stays he will be the highest paid coach in cfb. What kind of extra powers do you think he will or can get and will LSU make him the highest paid coach in cfb?

Miles won't be the highest paid in CFB at LSU. All of this is speculation, BTW. But yeah, I could see him wanting control of who he hires and fires. According to Alleva earlier this year, Miles already HAS that control. But it was rumored that Miles wanted to get rid of Crowton last season, and Alleva wouldn't let him because Miles had rallied for a raise for Crowton the year before and got it.

If Les is going to talk to UM officials it would make sense for a UM plane to be in BR.

For those who were/are wondering what I've been talking about with the term "restructuring his contract". Again, I've never felt like it was about "money" in terms of salary. This is more in line with what I'm talking about.

This is from the article linked in the thread about Peterson announcing his intentions tomorrow.

With what he's ALREADY BEEN paid from LSU alone, if he has any job security issues he really is a meathead.

You keep getting financial security and job security confused. Just because he's already made a mint doesn't mean he wants to quit coaching. Some people actually like their jobs...and want to know they can keep doing it even if a bunch of knucklehead fans or even possibly TAF members are upset with him, while he's sitting at 7-0, in the friggin SEC.
