I think it's wrong to boo them ANYTIME. Coming on the field, going off the field, bad play, whatever. As some have already said, no one feels worse than those kids, if they mess up. Depending on the personality, booing them can just COMPOUND the problem.....
agree. the kid is a tiger and trying his best. i may get mad, i may groan, i may wonder if it will EVER change. but im not booing him and it pisses me off when others do.
if he fakes dials a cell phone and taunts the crowd he's fair game. but then again, you really shouldn't boo him just in case he turns out to be jesus's son.
i have never boo'ed any LSU player. i have screamed at my television though and thrown couch pillows.
I'm feeling a lot better about you Tigers ...as far as booing once a player gets in a game. I think it's low class also. I just wanted to start off lightly. When Jarrett Lee trots on the field for the first time next season...just wait and see what develops. It'll go downhill from there. There is an argument that if you pay to get in a game then it's your right to boo players. I really don't buy that argument because it's not as much a right as it is a revelation of someone's character. Namely that a fan that boos his own players and team generally reveals that that type of fan is self centered...it's all about him and his own gratification. It's his world and everyone else is just in it. God help you if you don't live up to this fan's expectations because he'll boo his own team if they upset his little world. These type of fans are so self centered that they are NOT part of any brotherhood or confraternity of like minded sports fans because to truly belong to Tiger nation you have to surrender your self centered nature for the higher unity of spirit... of love...of purpose... of brotherhood. People like this who call themselves fans are NOT our brothers. :geaux:!!!!! Come on, publically declare your allegiance by signing up on this thread. It's not comment about Jarrett Lee or Jordan Jefferson...It's a declaration of your allegiance to LSU!!! be brave...declare your allegiance!!!!!
of course its your right, but it should be directed at the opposition. Jarrett Lee may have lost us a few games last year, but he did save us from the most embarrassing potential loss since UAB. While i do not want Lee to see the field this season, if Miles makes that decision then i will bite my tongue and see what happens.
and i hate that school of thought. i have to pay to go to school, but i don't have the right to cheat or stay if i flunk out. i have to pay to get into a strip club but that doesn't mean i can act like an a$$ and get all touchy with the dancers (well at some clubs at least). paying admission isn't exemption from bad behavior and i hold our fans (paying or otherwise) to high standards. edit: steve, y'all open for breakfast on sunday, i'll be in mandeville this weekend and i've never been there yet???
Heck yea, we'll be open!!! see you there. we close at one on Sunday and Saturday we may close a little early if everyone's at a cookout and we have no customers for lunch. (ps) I don't really buy that argument either. But if your team plays very unsportsmalike...i.e. trying to injure another player and stuff like that. That may change things.
I'm on board. I always felt bad for the the guy (Lee) watching him on TV. Especially since the announcers always laughed at the fact that he was getting booed at home. I think that's trash. So to clarify... Can we boo during unsportsmanlike activities? P.S. - Great thread Steve Maybe that's who Tebow was calling
I am on board but not sure that is a big deal. I don’t boo players. Now that being said I do get furious at my team when: • QBs can’t look past the first receiver in a progression • QBs continually throw behind receivers • WRs who alligator arm a pass over the middle • WRs who fail to run full speed on a fly route in order to clear the zone • OL who jump off sides (you know the count) • Tacklers fail to wrap up • Special Team players that don’t stay in their lanes and give up huge yards • Any player acting a fool in the endzone These are coaching issues in my opinion. These are kids and they are going to make mistakes. They are going to do bone headed things and that is OK, because if they were perfect every play what fun would it be to watch?
