Anybody ever heard of Montee Ball? No, probably not. He doesn't play for Alabama. The hype machine by the media is disgusting.
Because an LSU fan, and anyone with half a brain for that matter, should have Tyrann Mathieu at number 1. WTF?
Well, I am voting based on several different factors. Robert Griffin III had a bigger impact on his team winning games and NEVER had a substandard game all year long. Mathieu was a non factor in the biggest game of the year, and had a penalty that nearly cost LSU, pinning the team back inside the 10 late vs Alabama. If I had told you before the season started that Baylor would be ranked 109th in the nation in scoring defense, giving up a whopping 35.7 ppg, what W-L record would you have projected for Baylor? That is why the voters need to get this one right.
I think the combination of the following will give RG III the Heisman: 1. Big game in final weekend against the Horns to finish 9-3 (impressive for Baylor) while other contenders were done with season. 2. Keenum falling out of contention with poor showing, which will help RG III pick up some votes that would've been split regionally. 3. His numbers. Look at how incredible they are. I even remember earlier in the season when Baylor needed a big drive to win the game. They do some sort of trick play that ends up with RG III going over the middle to catch a first down pass in traffic. He gets hammered by two DBs but still hangs on to the ball.
I strongly agree with Luck being left out of the top 5. He folds if you even fart within 5 yards of him. Overrated. I also agree with Ball being ahead of Richardson. I'd knock Griffiin down to 5 bases strictly on his comment of "Baylor just won its first Heisman" after the Texas game. Shut up, dude. No one wants to hear you talk about how good you think you are.
