As said by the Fisherman, you could move some up and some down. But using support, recuiting, tradition and history this is my guess as to the top 10 are. I did not give as much weight to the recent history as some may have done. If I were to use the last decade to choose the list there are some that would not sniff the top ten.

Nebraska has support, recuriting base, tradition and a great history of winning. I can not see the future so I did not give and thought to that.

    As for 'Zona St...it wasn't worth a response.

As far as Stallings, I truly believe that every fan NOW says they loved him...but I don't believe that it was always like that. And I never said it was limited to the fans. The powers that be at Bama are ALSO pretty delusional, no? Even at my age, I still have a very good memory.;)

Ill say this and this is my last Alabama statement:

No, you are right, not everyone loved him but that is not why he resigned. They did not like his offense at first but he did open it up with fat Freddie.

The reason people love Saban, like Stallings, is because their personality for the most part represents people in Alabama. They are each tough disciplinarians and don't deal with bs, like the media and golf tournaments they don't want to do. The same is for Bryant. Their personalities are all alike a resemble a large portion of Alabama. I think that is one part that does not get mentioned. Plus they are completely different than the unsuccessful coaches. Plus they like to drink. Well maybe Bear drank for all of them. :)

I love the LSU Tigers, but unless you put more weight on recent winning ways LSU does not belong in the top 5. Like I said, using the last decade the list would look totally different.

    I did change the list.

I don't know. This looks like a half living in the past list to me. :)

I'm not sure how Texas doesn't make the list. To me the OP seemed to have it nailed. Except of course I'd move the Buckeyes up, particularly if they get er done on 1/7/08.

So you are not taking into account the future at all? If not, I cannot disagree with your list...but I was taking into account the near future...and also, my list only included the recent past (8-10 years)to the near future(3-5 years)...therefore no Bama, ND, Michigan, PSU, FSU, Miami, et al.

I said I didn't give as much credit to recent as past history. I also said if I used just the last decade there would be some teams that would not even sniff the top 10. The criteria was support, recuriting, tradition and history.

You are right Texas could go in there also.

The future is unknown. If I used the last 8-10 years my list would look totally different, bama along with others would not be there. This game is to subjective. If everyone is chosing their own criteria to make the list it is going to be hard get any consensous on the answer.

If I had the time to do the research I would most likely change this list over the next few days, but I don't. So I live with what I've got.

OK, I'll give you overall history and tradition. But, I disagree with Neb though. They shouldn't be that far ahead in my opinion...BTW just joking with the "blasphemy" thing...
