First off, I absolutely hate these types of posts, but all I have to say is that: LSU HAS FINALLY ARRIVED. I was starting to get worried that the team that we had been fielding was our true team. Now I know that Les & Co. were just using these first four games to work things out. "Pregames" as some of you put it. The players, coaching staff, just about EVERYONE was fired-up on the sidelines yesterday. The players didn't get cocky and jump up and down when they made a play. They just dominated. We still have work to do, but we saw the SAME plays that we had been seeing ALL season long against UGA. This time, though, the team executed and I just really feel a lot more confident that LSU can hang with ANY team in the country. I really thought LSU was going to get beat in Athens. Instead, we dominated. UGA got lucky on a few plays. Aj Green was pushing off all night. The refs were rooting hard for the home team. BUT... the Tigers pulled this game out. CLM was giddy with glee. I was giddy with glee. patrick peterson. chad jones. charles scott. those are our MVPs right now. Jefferson still needs to get better with his decision-making, but for a SOPH, he is doing VERY, VERY well for himself. I think we see a LOT more of the playbook against UF. I really think that the team we see next week is going to be the team we see from here-on-out. ANYONE who isn't happy to be a Tigers fan right now probably isn't one anyhow. :geauxtige:lsup:LSU!:LSU231:
Welcome back, JayB. I agree with you - we can play with anybody out there, though we may not win them all, this team has the heart and desire to play 'em all hard and tough. Should be fun from here on through the rest of the season. I still expect us to lose a couple - but as long as we play hard, anything can happen. :geaux:
