I see it a little different in the ACC, i think the U will get back to being the powerhouse in that conference. Randy Shannon has done a nice job defensively, and they have put together some solid recruiting classes the past few years. In the ACC all you have to do is have a solid defense, and a semi capable offense, and you can win it. I like the way Miami is heading, its been kinda wierd not having them on the scene for awhile considering all the NFL talent they produce, and the history of that program.
Randy Shannon is a joke for a head coach. How long Miami goes along before deciding that is anyone's guess.
i could be way off, but shannon has only been hc for 2 seasons and coker pretty much destroyed what butch davis did there, i think they are on the right track to get back to being the team in the coastal division
You watch the hurry up offense in the last 2 minutes of their bowl game vs Cal? Dude is in over his head on the sidelines. He'd make a good DC, however.
Mine looks as follows: 1. Florida 2. USC 3. Oklahoma 4. Texas 5. Alabama 6. Ohio State 7. Boise State 8. Oklahoma State 9. Ole Miss 10. Georgia Notes: Ole Miss left the '08 season as maybe the hottest team other than Utah, and we all know what Snead can do. Georgia has too much talent to be held down. I can't see VT doing that well. They play Alabama in their first game of the year, which I see being a definite loss. It seems as though no team in the ACC can play consistently which is required in order to reach the top 10 in my book. That puts GT and FSU out of the top 10 as well, especially after we showed glaring weaknesses in GT's gameplan. I would switch OU and Texas 'cause I think Bradford and Murray being back puts OU above just Colt McCoy for Texas. I would also bump USC up to 2 because they have great talent and coaching no matter what. I don't see us in the top 10 because of our defense. I know we just got some great hires, but I don't see the talent. We lose Jackson, Favorite, Jean-Francois, Taylor, Beckwith. Our secondary is unproven other than Peterson and our LB play has not been great. Then there is the D-line where we pick up help in Davenport, but still lack a great pass rusher other than Alem. On offense, Jordan Jefferson appears to be a good fit at QB, but I'm still not sold completely on his decision-making. We also lose Big Herman Johnson and Brett Helms.
