1. Our QB situation is our achilles heel: We all thought this going into the season but felt like maybe Lee could somehow handle the load as a redshirt freshman. He showed tonight that he's not a bad quarterback by any stretch but he made many poor throws in easy situations. I personally think it nerves and mental with this kid. He will be great when he is a junior, if we see him play then. 2. Our defense is not that good: It never was. Most of us believed the hype, felt we had good DB's to come up and fill in adequately and felt like our LB's were pretty decent although they had no depth. And every single one of us believed we had the best DL in the country. The fact is, they have underperformed tremendously. Our D Line has very few sacks, six coming into the FL game, does an adequate job against the run, but cannot creat the pressure and disturbance that it needs to. 3. This is not our last loss this season: We have had close calls all year and have not dominated a team yet. 4. Urban Meyer solidifies himself as the most classless coach in college football: He calls a home run play while up 41-14 in the fourth quarter and then a jump pass with 6 minutes remaining and up three touchdowns. The guy is an asshat. This is not open for discussion. 5. We were not outcoached: We didn't win the game but I really believe we just missed on execution. I would love to see how this game turns out if that pass on the third play of the game falls harmlessly to the ground instead of straight to the Florida wideout. I know we'll hear how CUM outcoached CLM but that is not the case. 6. Florida is Damn Good: The coaches finally figured out how to use the talent they have and will be a force to reckon with. Hopefully we will have a shot at them in the SEC championship game. The Bama game is everything now. We win, we're in good shape, we lose and we're out.
RP you know the quarterback we kicked off is coming to back to haunt us like I said and everyone knows how much better we would be with him at the helm. This game was pathetic we will end up losing several more games this year if we don't fix these problems we have. There is nothing we can do about this quarterback situation.
i was so freaking pissed when we got rid of RP and for this very reason...Good teams will expose our weak quarterback situation. Miles will wish he had not released RP when this season is over...
Do you not think that Coach Miles wishes, way more than anyone else here, that RP could've exhibited the self-discipline necessary to lead our team this year? It had to be done, and probably should have been done sooner. I'm sure the reason it wasn't done sooner is because Les Miles would've preferred to have had an experienced QB leading his team this year.
I'll give you a solid 4 out of 6, with 1/2 credit on numbers 2&4. On number 2, there's another thread discussing our defensive coaching, and I have to believe an actual defensive coordinator would be useful. We've lost our identity as a go for broke, control the other team's offense team, and I hate it. I believe Bo Pellini or Will Muschamp's schemes would be doing just fine with the personnel we have. But to make the point I made in the other thread, UF is absolutely loaded with offensive talent, and I suspect even a Pellini-coached defense would not have done much better. Don't forget, UF hung 56 on a Saban-coached LSU defense once. On number 4, everyone already knows CUM is a classless a-hole. However, I think the final drive was for Ricky Jean-Francois. Next time, RJF, keep your mouth shut and let your play do the talking.
There's no need to rehash the RP situation now. Unfortunately the kid screwed up. How many chances did he have to straighten up? Gotta deal with the cards we're dealt, and I'm sure the QB's will continue to improve. :geauxtige
