Dan Mullen on that 3rd down pass with an inch to go. it looked like these 2 teams were coached by dumb and dumber. chad jones gets honorable mention mvp. is miles an average coach and last year who he really is or is he a top-tier coach just trying to find an identity with his team?
Miles is an average coach that inherited a plethora of talent when he took over. Last year was just the start of Miles' recruits and "his" teams.
well they didn't make it on 4th and 4 inches with a running play so the pass play was genius and it took a superman play to stop it
They had 2 shots from the 4" line. All they had to do was QB sneak twice and game over. Mullen out smarted himself but his loss, our gain.
So I guess the plethora of recruiting services that have annually put us in the top five recruiting classes since Les has gotten here don't know jack sh!t either. :dis:
So which is it? If we've recruited so much talent why is it taking such a herculean effort to beat such crappy teams? Is the talent really as good or do the recruiting services base their rankings on where a recruit commits? Is the talent just as good and Miles not coaching them up? Watch the Bama game and tell me which team is better coached.
Yeah. I don't think that was a bad play call at all. Actually it may have been the best play call all day. If Chad Jones hand is two inches off in either direction, there would be a lot more Fire Miles threads right now. It was just a really heads up play. To you second question. Miles is average at best on gameday. I think above average in the offseason for sure. I think his biggest problem is 99% of the time it just doesn't seem like he is doing ANYTHING. Think about it, when you see most coaches on the sidelines they are visibly coaching or talking in the headset or jumping someones ass. When we see Miles on the sideline he usually just has a blank stare on his face, or he is telling someone who just missed and easy tackle that "it's ok." I don't know anymore than the rest of you what he's actually doing, but that is just mine and most of the folks I talk to's perception.
doesnt matter. you 4 run times and call it a day. a game rather. cant stop them if they do that. been running down our throats the entire drive. glad he did though.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda... we can do that all day - what if the LSU punter had just taken a safety in the first half instead of trying to fall on it on the 1 yard-line, gift-wrapping Miss. State a touchdown? That would have been be a 5 point difference in LSU's favor.
are you serious? Bama's coach, isn't he that guy who has a losing record in bowl games? would that be the feller with a couple losses to sunbelt teams? Didn't Miles take the great Saban to overtime last year? even though Saban clearly had the better QB that year? even though Saban clearly had a better defense that year? even though LSU got their worst QB performance since '94? even though Saban had the supposed #1 team in the country going into the game?
