Just remember our state greeting is "Do you need a beer?". Introduce yourself to as many people as you can and take the initial ribbing and Tiger Baits with humor. You will probably have to crawl to the stadium.
I like how this is shaping up...Chimes, tailgate, Tigerland (sounds like we will be about 12 years too old, but friends have told me we must check it out) pre-game and then downtown post-game. Next weekend cannot come soon enough.
30 - 34? Yeah, slightly on the older side for Tigerland. But I can imagine the appeal it might have for people coming in from out of town...I suppose... I felt old going there when I was 25. And I don't think I've been back since.
If you are 12 years too old for Tigerland you will be fine on campus with the tailgates. It's usually the young punks looking for trouble that find our bad eggs. And we do have some. Be sure to let us know how it goes.
If you make it to The Chimes and then visit tailgates, you won't have any need to go to Tigerland pre-game (nor would you want to, as I can't imagine it gets going until post-game.) Oh, and I can guarantee that Tigers do a better tailgating scene than Longhorns. But what do I know? I gradutated in '92 and haven't been to Tigerland since '95...
I heard from my neighbors that tried to go to Tigerland last week that on gameday it was filled to capacity at every bar. I would expect it to be the same again tomorrow, or worse.
Be sure to check out the ones on plank rd!..they have the best late night....bring lots of cash and be sure to wear WVU clothing as they will give you freebee's....
