obviously. its just ridiculous. i thought many said when saban was hired that it wouldnt affect Auburn because they always recruited most of their base from out of state. I seem to remember a lot of people saying this even though I never believed it. sounds like he learned a lot from his mentor in denial. "I have not interviewed for any jobs. I'm not interested in any jobs," Muschamp said in a statement this morning. "I'm happy here, my family loves Austin and I'm going to be at Texas." The Texas defensive coordinator and head-coach designate released the statement after a Fox TV affiliate that serves the Mobile-Pensacola Gulf Coast region said he would be accepting the Auburn job. Muschamp made the same strong denial to Mr. College Football himself, Tony Barnhart of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who fills in some gaps about the Auburn situation. "I have not talked to Auburn about this job and I have no interest in the job," Muschamp told Barnhart. "I really don't know what else to say. I'm going to stay at Texas until they fire me."
Do you think Muschamp's heart can take a head coaching position. His enthusiasm and energy level peek out just as defensive coordinator.
Alabama has always dominated in-state recruiting except for the post Gene Stallings years. Every Auburn and Alabama fan knew it would probably shift back to how it was after Saban returned even though LSU fans didnt believe it for whatever reason. Alabama is getting more in-state guys now than they normally do but that is what happens when you have one of the best recruiters going against one of the laziest. AU will do better with a new coach. Auburn always does a great job recruiting Georgia and under Tubs they did extremely well in south Florida.
