I know this is posted on the other board about Murphy but I just read on Rivals that Scott was going to commit but is still a little undecided. That would be great to get his pledge while he is at camp this week.
I think Scott will committ during the camp or sometime shortly after. In the Rivals article, I got the feeling that he had all but made up his mind...I just don't think he wants to come out and say it quite yet.
I sure do hope we can get Scott & Murphy was a nice pick up. We'll need these guys to be able to play in the not to distant future.
Don't thow dirt on Antonio, Vincent, RJ, Hester and Alley just yet. Alley may leave early if he has a bang up year but I doubt JV and the others will be going anywhere soon.
No no no. I'm not throwing dirt on anybody. Our backfield for this comming season is amazing. But it's made up of 2 senior & 2 juniors. IF LSU has a big year & Broussard gets 1,000 yards or so this season - he could easily enter the draft. I hope he comes back but you never know. Nobody knows how Vincent will turn out at this point. I think Hester is going to do big things for us as well. Antonio & RJ are both inexperienced & untested so as if they don't get to see the field any this year (which i don't expect they will) then they won't have to much of a leg up on any incomming Running backs. Yea, they'll know the system but I think being a running back is more about talent/skill than learning the system (especially compared to alot of other positions). So, if Broussard leaves that means that 06 could be a year of getting all these guys' feet wet & seeing which ones can come in clutch. I hope we get some big time recruits this season because they'll have the opportunity to prove themselves pretty quickly.
I don't think Robinson will be playing RB, LB or safet probably. Jackson could get converted to a DB, although I think Miles promised him a shot at RB, but when he sees the competition he might want to switch positions, although his highlight reel was amazing. There has also been talk of Murphy playing WR or DB. These two pick ups are great, now if Les can just get Keiland Williams to sign (who may the best of the three), we should be set at RB for a while.
Well connected guy at TB said Murphy is for sure being recruited for RB. I personally agree though that he could get some playing time at WR...he's much bigger (more muscular) than I thought. He is quick and slashing, but he's built and looks to be able to break tackles.
Robinson and Murphy will both be given great shots at RB. Guys forget way to easily how good the last class of recruits were when the new ones start to commit. If Robinson was afraid of the competition he would be at another school right now.
