Thanks, but remember this. So many COLLEGES looking for a COLLEGE assistant. Remember that.

Again, look in a different area for a likely Crowton replacement. And keep in mind that the NFL season doesn't end for a few more weeks. :thumb:

Here's what Les is looking at for 2011:

    • His 3 big defensive leaders at each level of the defense are gone. We can smack talk about reloading, but that's gonna hurt.
    • The loss of Jasper and Helton are going to be HUGE. Why? Because those guys alone have swung several games into the W column with the kicking game and kept us close in those two losses. Special teams takes a big dive as a result.
    • Because of these things, LSU is going to have to rely FAR more on offense to outscore opponents and win next season than they've had to this year.
The last time Crowton had success with pocket QBs after year 1 was over 10 years ago. Crowton is a known commodity at this point, he's had three years to get the LSU offense out of the ditch and he can't even get it out of 1st gear. Who knows what just one year of his QB "coaching" is going to do to Mett and Rivers?

If there's a fire in your office building and you're stuck on the 4th floor, do you jump out the window and risk serious injury/death or stay in the building and die for certain? Crowton is the burning building. After all this time we know exactly what we're getting from him. The 5th floor jump may end up being no better, but we know damn well the LSU offense will choke to death if he stays.

And this notion that Crowton is the best out there that LSU can get right now is ludicrous. There's going to be a lot of college and NFL coaches looking for jobs in a few weeks, and we can't grab just one of those? LSU is a great opportunity for an assistant coach to make his mark on a top college program and make serious $$$, so don't tell me nobody wants to come here either.

by suggesting a RB coach out of the NFC south which one did you have in mind.

    Gerald Brown ATL
    Jim Skipper CAR
    Brett Ingalls NO
    Steve Logan TB

Just curious as to who and why? I agree we are going towards a more pro style offense but why one of these guys?

Can someone explain what it is that you think miles sees in the crow? Do you think he is great in the film room? Great at motivating the players? What do you think miles sees that we don't? Miles sees something we don't for sure I for the life of me I can't figure it out. Crows offense's are among the worst in the country for years now. Maybe he thinks the crow has done a great job considering that he was cursed in having Jordon Jefferson as his starting qb and a head case for a backup. The truth is that our qb's were so bad because of the crow. So still I want to know what is it that you think causes miles to believe that the crow is the right man for lsu. Is it that crow got lsu a mnc and miles thinks if he did it once he could do it again?

Gotta hand it to you Fish, these last two posts make a lot of sense, they give me hope. Sounds a lot more rational than the 25 "he's dumber than baby chit and he's got to go" posts. Good job.

College head coaching experience, college OC experience, NFL experience with the very thing LSU is going to specialize in on offense. And don't think just because he's an RB coach he doesn't know the passing game. He coached Matt Ryan at BC, Jeff Blake at East Carolina, and others. He's been a QB coach, as well as a TE coach I think. Maybe even WR coach. Coached under Jimmy Johnson at one point.

That's who I'm talking about, but you can take if FWIW, because there's no insider info with it. I just think there's more options out there than people realize. People seem to only look at other college OCs, or get these ridiculous ideas in their head that a guy like Mike Leach is gonna come to LSU and take less than the HC job. Not happening. And as long as Miles is coach, we aren't going to see the Air Raid, the spread option, or anything like that at LSU.

Logan is the guy that probably SHOULD have been named HC at Boston College, but got passed over and left. Wound up at TB in his current position.

Thank FISH! sounds like a guy that could fit and I agree there are alot more people out there than college OC's. As far as those that think mike leach is coming, I think i heard yesterday he was headed to maryland to be their head coach.

His agent is currently denying this, but it just doesn't matter. He isn't and never was coming to be LSU's OC.
