I do smoke pot and fortunately, I'm a responsible soul and certainly not objecting like I got suspended. Rather, I'm objecting because I believe in freedom and common sense. Yah, everything has a price, including following a bad law just because it's a law.

 

When getting caught breaking the bad law has unacceptable negative consequences why can't those idiots refrain until after the season? I know lots of people who want to smoke pot but they are afraid of getting piss tested where they work. In the NFL they test for pot once a year before the season starts and everyone knows when they are going to be tested. Yet some of them test positive anyway when all they had to do was wait until after and then smoke all the weed they wanted, All college players have to do is to get clean before enrolling in the fall and stay clean through the season. Not much to ask when weighed against getting suspended and having your draft stock take a tumble. Really good players who continue to indulge during the season are costing themselves a lot of money. Money that could be used to buy more pot later under the NFL's more lax policy.

 

Money is a false idol. Freedom is worth a sacrifice, even if it's fun, all the better.
