1. Which LSU team shows up, the one we saw last Saturday night, the one we saw earlier in the year or a team that has lost it's will? 2. Will we see the same kind of enthusiasm from the TS crowd that we saw last week? I think this game will be as important as Alabama. This game will show the character of this team and CLM's ability to coach the team up after a devastating loss. I doubt that the crowd will match last Saturday's, but I think the crowd support shown this week could be just as important as it was against Bama.
I started a similar thread yesterday. Great minds think alike. The team can still go 10-2 in the regular season, with a shot at a good bowl berth. Maybe the Sugar if things line up right... An 11-2 finish would be super given all of the issues the team has endured. It would be great to finish with a flourish as that translates into great momenturm for 2013. That said, I think CLM will have the Tigers ready to play, and I would think the team itself has gained a lot of confidence, even with the loss this past Saturday.
I hope the team shows up mad and takes it out on the Bulldogs. This will be a test; not by MSU but by LSU. Last Sat showed them and us how good they can be. They need to show they believe it and want to show the world it wasn't a fluke. I feel they will be ready. I agree the crowd will be smaller and less wild. That is natural butthey will be ready to support the team. If the Tigers come out strong the crowd will roar. I don't expect the crowd to lift the team if it comes out flat.
Assuming UA defeats Ass To Mouth on Saturday.... this is a battle for the SEC West's No. 2 spot. A pair of 7-2 teams with 2 losses in the league. This could be a battle for the Cotton Bowl... or even the Sugar. That said, Mississippi State is in a free-fall right now. Dan Mullen has proven time and time again he's Bob Stoops-esque when it comes to big games. He rarely wins them. And this game not being at Scott Field makes an upset even less likely. LSU should win by at least 3 touchdowns, based on the past 2 weeks. Jonathan Banks needs to play the game of his life, and Tyler Russell has to keep the clock moving. Zero turnovers or Mississippi State is toast.
I am hoping that there are a lot of empty seats down there Saturday, and LSU's mind is focused elsewhere. That might be the difference between a 40-7 beatdown or a 28-21 2009-type game.
Mindset is important. I think LSU presents Mississippi St with huge match up problems, I'm hoping that the coaching staff now has enough faith in Mett to open up the game plan and let him throw it 25- 35 times per game, I think he and the recievers devolp rythm when they do.
I laughed at ass to mouth. Look for the game to be a lot closer than you think. One week does not make a passing game, much less in a flat spot. Like you guys looked after your Bama matchup. Such physical games are almost impossible to recover from in a week. As well as mentally. Hopefully we pull away late.
I think our biggest asset is Miles' record at LSU after a loss. He's only loss back-to-back games once, which must mean that he's good at getting his teams to bounce back from a loss. This one, of course, was heart-breaking.
