This is just my opinion - and no I am not a Sports Psychologist - so take it for what it's worth.

Honestly I think all of LSU's lossess the past 2 years (including that awful NC game where we never crossed the 50) comes down to one word:

    MOTIVATION.

I honestly believe that SOMEHOW these players get motivated for 2 things:

    1) Beating Bama
    2) Their NFL draft stock

In 2011 we got motivated and beat Bama - in their house.
Once that was accomplished we acted like old Roberto Duran in the 2nd Championship fight against Sugar Ray:
    "No Mas!"

When we lost to Bama last year - with all that talent on Defense - we had "lost the motivation" and struggled the rest of year until finally losing to a Clemson team that we simply could not stop. Again, with nearly half those players playing on Sundays.

    Here's another thing I noticed:
Bama smashed Ole Miss 25 - 0 while we struggle and lose ugly.
FSU smashed a Clemson team (at their place) while we lose to them last year.

I don't understand why some teams can STAY UP and stay motivated and play at their level consistently.

    1) It's not a talent issue in my opinion
    2) It's not a coaching "strategy" like game-planning issue
    3) It's a mental preparation and motivation issue in my opinion.

    I'll hang up and listen...

No team stays up for a month much less a season. Thats myopic shit from couch potatoes. Some win despite Being flat.

But You can't do that often with a shitty defense.

I also think that some players start believing they're unstoppable. They get cocky or arrogant and set themselves up for an ass whooping. Hopefully this game was a reality check

I said it last night in the congratulatory thread to Col Reb- we're not hungry anymore. At the least, we certainly lack enthusiasm. I saw someone posted in another thread (and agree wholeheartedly) that a team takes on their coach's pesonality. I SWEAR I was thinking that yesterday. We need a Muschamp jumping up and down. We walk around on the sideline like it's a chore to be there.

Well, he'll probably be available after this season. Jumping up and down and acting a fool doesn't make one a great coach, Tiga.

This team had something to prove. They just aren't great. Ole miss is always lsus apathetic game. This passion and fire bullshit happens in about 3 games a season just about any team.
