What is the most important value needed in a recruit to make them special?

A combination of the above and more but what do you consider most important?

I think without natural ability, all of those other things generally become irrelevent.

Without natural ability, you're not a recruit. I think this poll is more of what is it that makes you succeed.

Heart and determination go a long way IMO....Also work ethic.

Even still, it's natural abilities that seperate great players from good players & allows them to succeed more often than not. Obviously talent is necessary to be a recruit.

A recruit with great natural ability can succeed even without heart, determination etc. Now, they'd be better if they had those things, but they aren't actual necessities to success.

But heart and determination makes them special. I would rather have a decent player with upside along with heart, determination, and dedication to my school than a say....Maurice Clarett. :thumb:

The word special is pretty broad, so I took it to mean a spectacular athlete. I mean, if the recruit isn't a phenomenal athlete, how "special" he is doesn't much matter.

A recruit has to have the God-given talent. All of the other categories listed can be learned or coached. But if you don't have adequate speed, agility, and strength, you can't compete at the Division I level.

These are givens...Are they even considered recruits if they dont have it? We've seen it before numerous years...The team with unlimited talent, the strongest, the fastest--go down. You'd rather have a player with all that talent with an ego to boot, than a good player that gives 110% every down?
