http://cfn.scout.com/2/1319896.html by Matt Zemek "Most Disappointing Team: LSU. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t trust Zach Mettenberger with my morning paper route – he’s that inaccurate. Cam Cameron represents an upgrade at coordinator from Greg Studrawa, but as Doug Johnson and dozens of others could tell you, many talented college quarterbacks – in the SEC or elsewhere – just don’t put the pieces together when they have the chance."
we will win at least 10 to 11 games, but he is kinda right about Zach. However, i do think Zach will put it all together this year.
This is NOT journalism. This is what's wrong with journalism...namely an over opinionated blowhard that spouts opinions that dumb a$$ sports fans listen to. There is no substance any more....no analysis....no writing skill....no development of topic. There is only talking heads who base their opinions on themselves. The guy sitting on the barstool next to you spouting barstool logic makes more sense than most talking heads on ESPN. This is no attack on Matt, he's just a symbol of putrid journalism.
Such a blanket statement, especially with his insertion of "elswhere". I could easily say the same about the ones who do "put the pieces together". Having said that, the SEC isn't particularly known for pro style offenses so, duh.
I don't particularly agree that LSU will be the most disappointing team in the country, unless the idea is that anything less than a national championship is a huge disappointment. But we do we need to know the writer's address and phone number?
I want to see Mett use a checkdown to the backs when under duress. Be more aware of the pressure and get rid of the ball quickly out to the back. If he can do that, we will be much better at avoiding those drive killing sacks.
It's a hyperbole, guys, a figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect, as "this book weighs a ton." It's not meant to be taken literally. The author is telling us what we already know: Mett is an inconsistent QB that struggles with accuracy on the deep ball. QB is an extraordinarily difficult position. Look at the NFL, you'd think the United States could produce at least 50 good solid starting caliber QBs so that most NFL teams had not one, but two good solid starting caliber QBs. But how many NFL teams have just one good solid starting caliber QB? 20 at most? There have been cases of QBs who weren't so good one year then pretty good the next, but that's usually not the case
Collegefootballnews is actually a website that I've frequented over the past 10 years and it is pretty solid and well-respected. They do a lot of great analyses of games and previews and such. However, Matt Zemek is a prick and I've never liked him, as he's an LSU hater. Pete Fiutak is awesome though.
Look guys, picking LSU to have a down year is statistically smart. We lost how many to the draft? Have had a history of anemic offenses, and play the hardest schedule in the SEC. I mean its an easy call.
