For me, when Stanford's Paul Carey hit a GS off Ben McDonald in the CWS. We were just beginning to establish our rep and that was a crusher.
as mentioned in the other thread, us blowing the big lead to Kentucky in basketball in 94. Another would be the loss to Auburn (also in 94) when Jaime Howard threw 5 4th quarter interceptions, blowing a 23-9 4th quarter lead. I remember people calling in the radio stations wanting Jaime Howard to meet them so they could kick his ass. That was terrible.
LSU’s 86 Final Four loss to Louisville. At the time I was devastated. It was one of the greatest achievements from any of the programs while I was there and losing at that point just crushed me. OF course I was a lot younger at the time, but I like so many, was so excited about possibly winning a National Championship. It was such an unbelievable run that because the possibility was so improbable it made it even more exciting hope for.
Here are two: (1) 2002 Arkansas game. LSU up 20 -14 in the 4th Q. Matt Jones throws a 31 yard TD pass with :09 to win the game; (2) 2005 Cap One Bolw LSU up 25-24, Drew Tate throws 56 yard TD to win the game with 00:00 on the clock.
Auburn in 2006 I think with the pass interference that was overturned. I couldn't speak the rest of the night and was pissed for a week.
