Once again Morton Anderson didn't receive enough votes to be inducted into NFL Hall of Fame. While some people may question whether kickers are "real football players" they are a vital part of every team just like a quarterback or a linebacker or a lineman. Very often a kicker is the difference between winning or losing. There are only three placekickers in the Hall and only Jan Stenerud was only a kicker. Lou Groza as also an All Pro O Tackle and George Blanda was a very good quarterback too. Stenerud scored 1699 points in an 18 year career and is only 13th all time in kicker points scored. Anderson scored 2544 in a 25 year career and won quite a number of games with last second field goals. He deserves to be in the Hall. Also Adam Vinatieri is in fourth place and is still kicking at the age of 42. He deserves to be there also when he retires. After all, he did win three Superbowls with his kicks.
Morton Andersen is the only player in NFL history to retire as the career scoring leader for 2 different franchises....that's got to count for something.
Morton Salt, Morton Ranch is where Hunter played high school ball and Morton Neuroma is something I had to have repaired by Dr Michael Blanchard, former LSU player.
