Has anyone gone back and watched the game again? In slo-mo? It's no wonder that Ridley had a bad game. Our run blocking was atrocious! And it was equally scattered down the line. I know Herm and Quinn were big losses, but we really should not be blocking so poorly. We also really missed a blocking TE, and I mean really missed one. End of the day, we don't have the run - we don't have play action. And JJ does have a wind up release, but he is also running for his life half the time. Combine that with sloppy routes(thanks McCarthy), and plays requiring time to develop(thanks crowton), and you get the results we saw. It's not any one thing, but Gonzales will tighten up our receivers and I can only hope that crowton moves on. That won't fix everything, but it would be the biggest fix.
No, not really. I'm just pointing out how you are as pro-Miles as the complainers are anti-Miles. Neither one of you really represents a fair voice of reason. Me either, for that matter.
No we don't. Replacing a coach is a choice for the LSU AD and the LSU Chancellor. The fans only choice is to back LSU football or not. LSU has paid top dollar for coaches since tight-wad Joe Dean finally left. That is not and has not been at issue for a decade now. We get it. You don't like Les Miles. You want him gone, You want many new faces. All our hopes and dreams will then be answered. We get it. Is there some reason you must repeat it like a broken record in every thread?
Do you have some sort of reading comprehension disability we should know about? Since you're so tired of reading my "broken record" posts, you would know that I specifically said it would be a mistake to fire Miles. We get it. You love Les. And since you seem to think he's so far above criticism, then it shouldn't matter to you what a bunch of moron detractors say about him. Instead, I see you and a bunch of other people who think he currently has the program going in the right direction getting awfully defensive about your golden boy. But by all means, keep the insults coming. It's very convincing.
I love Les. Doesn't mean that I think he is perfect, and that some people don't have legimate reasons for not liking him. He is our coach though, and I'll support him until he leaves LSU. I say leave because it will take much worse than he has done in order for him to fired. We're still a rebuilding team, it's just taking longer than a lot people want it to for us to get back on track. :miles:
There is nothing wrong with supporting Les Miles. There is nothing wrong with criticizing Les Miles either. No one is above criticism. Just because one is critical does not mean they hate Les or want him fired. But those out there who think nothing is wrong, and nothing needs to be fixed really need to share some of that good ass weed with me.
Years like this will never get Les outright fired. However, come contract extension time, it's going to make people wonder if LSU is getting its money's worth for $3.75M/yr. I don't think it is, but it ain't my decision to make, and there may very well be other circumstances to consider when the time comes. Les definitely did right by us with the defensive changes. I hope he'll do something similar on offense in the off-season.
I think people will feel that way if we continue to improve, even if only by one game, making it 10-2 during the regular season. College coaches make a lot of money, some would argue too much for what they do, but most find a way of justifying it when he wins, complaining about when he loses. His contract will probably be extended, even if we have a similar season. As far as the off-season improvements, I am hoping for many. I've already gotten one of my wishes with our new WR coach
