But the fact that we weren't playing a good defense is the exact reason that we were so run-heavy. When you can keep the ball for 40mins, there is no reason to make any adjustments. We knew that we could impose our will upon them, and we did, keeping Johnny off the field in the process. We've thrown it plenty this year when it was needed.
This is just....ridiculous: @LSUBillMartin: I've gone back to NCAA stats dating back to 2003 and @LSUfball current third down % of 58.6 is the highest of any FBS team since then. #LSU
What a difference a year makes. It used to be that I couldn't bear to watch on third and long. This year, I got excited when it was third and long.
Much of what a OC/QB Coach does is know what to call and knowing when. Also knowing when its 3rd and long, what play to call that gives his QB the best odds. Cam knows this as good as anyone in football. The stats show this. Like I said, might just be me but I see a better offense next year. Cam will have had a pass through everyone's defense. He'll have a mobile QB, more players into the offense, still making teams cover the entire field.
