http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...5nYcB?slug=ap-probowl-miami&prov=ap&type=lgns Pro Bowl will be played in Miami in 2010. No biggie there. Probably a good move to mix it up. Here's the kicker. The game will be played a week BEFORE the Superbowl during the bye week. So... no one on a team in the Superbowl will ever play in the Pro Bowl again. Good move, Mr. Commish.
You can probably count the people on one hand that care when and where the Pro Bowl is/will be played.
I agree 100%. But I just think it's a bit of a slap in the face that you're going to have an All-Star game and then exclude players on the 2 best teams.
I guess it's about the money? More revenue available when there's still a Superbowl on the horizon and everyone hasn't switched to watching Lost and pretending to like the NBA?
And thus Brett Farve gets the nod at QB for the AFC, without merit. I have never watched an entire Pro Bowl. Can't remember when I have even watched 2 minutes of it.
Well they obviously won't play in the Pro Bowl, but if you polled the players I'm sure they would unamiously say they would rather prep for the SB rather than play in the Pro Bowl. Will be interesting to see what the TV ratings are compared to last years game.
no doubt, but if polled, i'm sure they're rather the opportunity to do both. The whole thing I have with it is there are far bigger problems in the game (officiating, replay system, stupid rules (tuck rule, etc...), that it's lame he is spending all his time fixing trivial things like this.
Doesn't sound like a permanent move from that article. Hypothetical Question fpr 2010: The Colts have 6 guys elected start start in the ProBowl The Giants have 5 guys elected to start in the Pro Bowl Colts/Giants play each other in Super Bowl. So, the alternates don't find out they're in until a week before the game?
