You should read the article carefully. It tries to mislead by headline and graph, but buried in the text it honestly admits that the graph is based on cherrypicked evidence.

The disability ranks have outpaced job growth throughout President Obama's recovery. While the economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009, fully 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits.

In other words, the number of new disability enrollees has climbed 19% faster than the number of jobs created during the sluggish recovery. (Even after accounting for people who left the disability program because they died or aged into retirement, disability ranks have climbed more than 1.1 million in the past three years.)

In other words, while 3.1 million workers have signed up for disability benefits, 2 million left the disability program (this was not included in the graph). That means that there have been 2.6 billion jobs added (actually 4.4 million according to the BLS) versus 1.1 million new disabled claims added. Thats what we call "half as much" (actually a quarter as much using the real numbers).

There is no way that the increase in disabled workers exceeds the jobs for new workers.

My question to you Red55 since you know more than most, the numbers show more people are getting on disability than jobs created. Nothing misleading read the article good as I do think you have some intelligence . Misleading I guess everyone is
against poor Obama and trying to bash the man, A million more people signed up for disability than that of jobs created nothing
    misleading about the numbers chief.

In addition, while hiring has been very weak during the recovery, the number of people who have dropped out of the labor force entirely has exploded by 7.3 million since June 2009, an IBD analysis of BLS data show. Some aged into retirement, but most either signed up for disability, stayed in school, moved back in with parents, or just quit looking for a job..

The problem is jobs are shown as a net number, and additions to disability are shown as a gross number. It isnt a good comparrison.

well if jobs were created than people would not have gone on disability as their only avenue to earn money,so what are their options disability or starve.

The numbers do not show that as I have already explained.
The article clearly states that 1.1 million workers have been added to the disability list. Not 3.1 million (a number also used by the article to confuse the issue and mislead) because that number did not include the 2million workers who have left the disability list. OK?
Now, compare the 1.1 million added to the disability list to the 2.6 million jobs created (actually 4.4 million, according to the BLS) and it is clear that job growth has outpaced disability growth by 100% to 200%.
In any case, the President and the Executive Branch does not oversee disability. Congress sets the rules, which have not changed recently. Judges decide who is eligible for disability.

You have to be disabled to get on Social Security disability. You can't just get on it because there are no jobs. You have to prove before a judge that you have a disability that keeps you from being able to work. You must offer documentation from qualified doctors as to the nature and severity of the disability. You must offer your work history and undergo questioning about details and any inconsistencies. Judges don't just hand out disability status carelessly, all of the evidence is in the record.

And more than that you have to be prepared to be monitorred by a private dick for as long as you are in receipt. You also have to go through rehabilitation services to try and train you for other types of work that your disability does not preclude you from.

Also disability does not pay dick.

This article is intellectually dishonest and preys on people who don't analyze things critically.

people signing their kids up with ADHD is bullshit, get them a bike. fat people sitting on the couch eating chips and drinking a gallon of coke and getting diabetes is bullshit, go for a walk and find a job. judges sign off on that shit without even reading half of it. A woman who works with best friends mom, her sister gets boils cause she lays on couch all day eating and watching tv and never sweats (Drs diagnosis). Fat bitch on disability now cause she's to fukn lazy to get her ass off the couch. that shit shouldn't cost taxpayers shit, they should take half her welfare check instead seeing that she's over fed.
