i voted less optimistic, but i didn't see sat. game, power was out. from what ya'll describe, we better hope Lee comes on during the season, or we're gonna lose a few to the top teams. before the season hope springs eternal, then reality sets in. i don't think we can just run the ball against the top teams.
Well now, it's not like we're NOT passing. We passed for over 200 on NTU, and we ran it a lot in our attempt to be vanilla. Those dinks and dunks will be our bread and butter, and I expect several of them to go for more yardage than a long bomb, anyway.
Thats interesting Parso, because I think teams with better D-lines and O-lines, will beat Florida up pretty good, they werent that impressive to me. Auburn is definitely a win, imo. But Georgia will be hard.
a bcs bowl game, but not the nc game. but there has to be improvement in the qb play. the rest of the team can make up for not strong qb's but they cant make up for bone headed and bambi moves by the qb's.
Did you happen to watch the UGA/SC game? Georgia didn't look good at all, and Stafford made more errors than a junior who's played the past two years should've. Moreno was basically a non-issue, as well.
What exactly have they done that was so wrong? I remember seeing Russell and Flynn throw some pretty horrible INT's too, and through two games our QB's only have one a piece. I think some people are trying to compare them to the nation's elite too much simply because they are on a nationally elite team. So far they have looked calm, capable, and methodical enough to lead their surrounding talent.
SC could have and should have won that game by ten. I'll give UGA credit more for their defense than their offense, however...coming up with turnovers at JUST the right time. Death Valley will be much louder than that. GOD I hope it's a night game!
All legitimate reasons as to why we should beat Georgia, Florida and Auburn. The immeasurable stat is that when these guys play LSU, you can almost throw everything out the window. These teams all seem to show up when they play us and I am sure they say the same thing about us. Losing Beckwith last year really seemed to hurt us. Our QB's will have to grow exponentially in order for us to win on the road. And though we are getting passing yards, they are mostly dink passes, and not actually down field. Hopefully they find a rhythm with the receivers. I would also point out that Hawkins seems to play a lot of catch up in coverage, and he is supposed to be the best corner we have right now. Our Qb's, corners, and LB's will be tested. There have not been many impressive looking teams in the SEC so far so we have a very good chance to finish well. Our foundations are solid(lines, rb's), but we have a few exploitable chinks too. We simply won't see our real team until we go on the road. The next month is the bar for the whole season.
Doesnt mean the talent isnt their, because they had a bad game. I just tend to believe that will be our toughest opponent this season.
