So on one hand we have the opinion of a sports writer who no one is ever heard of that writes from some podunk newspaper. Then we have a guy who makes millions of dollars coaching at the highest level of college football and just won a nation championship. This is an issue because? :rolleye33:
Hahahaaaa .... I can assure you that Josh Moon is no favorite of Auburn fans ..... dude is strictly schock-sports entertainment, not even close to the stretched definition of a "journalist." Red55 nailed it ...... and I would add that CLM is "crazy like a fox" recent AP Photo of Josh Moon :
I love this little quote from Moon in the comments section after it was brought to his attention that He screwed up the addition on his own scale. I guess he gets a 0 for smarts since he can't do simple addition.
I have to disagree with you TP. No way 75-80% of the state are Alabama fans. In my travels around the state, I see about 60% Bama, but that seems to be changing a lot in the last 10 years or so. JMHO and my observations. And the trailer park comment.... well you get a lot of that 60% in trailer parks. Don't know why or care, but the people who earn the least amount of money in Al, seem to be Bama fans. Would be interesting to see some kind of a poll done based on income level. But that is still just my opinion. Okay to trash the messanger. Like I said, just my observations. Think I'll have a chat with that reporter in the next few days!!!. Maybe I can get him to buy me lunch.
Probably 60-65% ish. Auburn fans are all around the state, but the larger cities are dominated by Bama fans, minus Montgomery. Bama grads make more money in the state. A lot of it has to do with the location of the fans and the area of concentration in school relevant to the pay scale.
But the topic was Bama FANS...not Bama grads. I would venture to guess that Bama grads make a LOT more than most Bama fans...simply because of the diploma.
I think that is beginning to swing back the other way in the past two years. A lot my kin folks live in Alabama (all Bama fans and none live in trailer parks) and there are several stores that USED to carry Auburn merchandise but the last two times I've been to buy Bama gear, there was nothing Auburn. It used to be roughly half and half. I asked the store clerk and she said they quit selling Auburn stuff because the demand for Bama stuff had become in such demand since $aban that the Auburn merchandise was basically just taking up space and more people were buying Bama stuff and less Auburn. Now that definitely isn't a representation of the entire state but is what I witnessed in several stores in small towns that used to be a split on fan support.
Quite a limb you went out on there. I used grads because there isnt much of a difference in the job fields for non graduates. Therefore, no one can easily say one is better off than the other, unless there is a Bill Gates somewhere in there. I find the trailer debate funny but the overall number is probably near even. Percentage wise it has to be higher for Auburn fans. By percentage on campus it is a million to one for AU.
Back to the original point. After every close game last year, both AU and UA fans made it a point to declare that "Miles is a moron". It is the prevailing thought in Montgomery, and he is playing to it. I just shrug my shoulders and say "just win baby." It will probably be 4 or 5 more years before any of our rivals respect Miles as a coach--and that is only if he keeps winning. Right now the SEC coaching fraternity is stronger than it ever has been. Name another conference where anyone (even the stupid) could argue that the reigning national championship coach is in the bottom half. I like the guy we have. As far as Richt is concerned, I have a lot of respect for him. But if he was such a good coach, why did the team so many wanted to crown the best at the end of the season get blown out by Tenn?
