9/11 first responders speak out on ‘Daily Show’ - Yahoo! News Seriously, what a joke these guys are. Shame on you GOP.
i dot really know the whole story. and i dunno exactly how much these first responders deserve. i do know the article says this: ""Why the (expletive deleted) is a COMEDY SHOW the only place on TV to properly interview some of the actual first responders? I'm not American so I can really only go off what I saw on the Daily Show - but that's absolutely disgusting."" the answer is that the daily show is not a comedy show but a left wing policy advancement show, very similar to fox news.
It's a left slanted comedy show, that really isn't debatable. However, this should be an issue that strikes a chord with all of us. This is kind of, not fully, but kind of like the Government not wanting to take care of Veterans once they get out. Of course the Military goes through crap on a smaller scale than 9/11, way more often, all the time during their service, so please don't get offended Military people, I hold you in the highest regard, and I'm not trying to compare what you go through daily to 9/11, I just can't think of anything else. Yet congressmen and senators can spend millions on campaigns, these guys can't get treated for throat cancer when they were the ones pulling bodies out of the rubble. I'm sorry ya'll but this is highly offensive to me. The guy in the video said it best, it shows how detached Washington is from the American People.
i should have been more accurate and said that it is a wildy biased left wing comedy/opinion hybrid. basically it is a venue for a left wing host and writing staff to push their message on relatively simple young white folks. i think when it markets itself as" just a comedy show" that is misleading in the same way fox is misleading. nothing wrong with bias in media, i should point out.
What am I missing here? These policemen and firemen and other responders work for the state of New York or the City of New York, who also owned the building, and they get the benefits provided by those government agencies. What exactly makes it a matter for the federal government to deal with on top of that?
Because it's the right thing to do. If anything they should step in and force the state of New York, or the FDNY to pay for these guys healthcare. That's all they want is to be able to afford their coverage. Seriously Red, are you against these guys getting taken care of when they risked their lives trying to take care of people who were slaughtered in an act of terror?
again, it is hard to know how much of their problems are caused by this. of the thousands of fellas that worked down there, some of them are gonna have cancer, it hard to know what caused it. i am not saying they didnt have it terrible. in fact i know pretty well what they are are dealing with as i used to see them every week or so, and smelled it when i went to sleep when i lived across the river a mile or so away. but we cant just say "they are 9/11 guys" and endlessly give them everything they want. maybe those guys are right, i dunno, i would like to hear the opposition's side.
