Now this is just getting out of control: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/specials/playoffs/2006/02/01/bc.fbn.superbowl.church.ap/index.html?cnn=yes
Yes, that is exactly what he would have said. And I think he would have murmured "Deuce only carried it 6 times....good Lord"
It's not really anyones fault Deuce only ran 6 times. Dan Patrick interviewed Drew the other day and asked him about it. Apparently the Bears defense was playing completely different than on film. Also they went to the line many times with run/pass check down options and Drew said the safety was coming in the box often...therefore you pass...
Yeah, me was joking Believe me, I was one of the few that backed our offensive gameplan. While most where wondering why Deuce didn't get the carries, I knew we were being forced to throw the ball, and we did so quite effectively for nearly 3 quarters. Game turned on a few choice plays. We'll get em next year no doubt.
Yea, I didn't see anything wrong with it either...from the misery of my 30 degree seat...Even when Deuce ran we were getting stuffed...the passing game was working...
I musta rewatched the game 3-4 times to analyze where it went wrong. And I came to the conclusion as well as Brees played, had he had his A game, the Saints win. But I really think the hit he took early in the game when he fumbled sent a msg loud and clear and it rattled Brees just enough to throw him off his usual great game. His decision making skills were just a tad bit askew and it was the difference in the game. Didn't help that the O-line decided to have their worst game of the year in pass blocking.
