Marco Rubio makes so much sense that John Kerry couldn't just sit and listen and gets his butt kicked in the process. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_68GjR6V6zI&feature=player_embedded]Sen. Rubio: "Save the Whole House or It Will All Burn Down"‏ - YouTube[/ame]
I agree, a very good speech. A very impressive Senator. I am especially glad that he acknowledged there are two parts to reducing debt, increasing revenue and cutting costs. And he also stated publicly, he is for compromise, that works. We should all be able to salute that flag. It is certainly a far cry from "NO" we often hear from some in the Congress.
Of course revenue needs to be increased, but taxing businesses in this economy is not the way to do it. How about O'Reilly's plan to institute a national sales tax to get some money from those who pay no taxes, i.e. the "underground economy" such as drug dealers, crawfishermen, "disabled" people who work for cash, etc? They all spend money even though they pay no taxes.
Should poor people not have to contribute to society? They have the right to vote, shouldn't they contribute something, even a little, as well?
voodoo economic, or trickle-down economics, is really the only way economies actually work. you see everything through a lens of class envy.
It worked better than tax and spend economics. Or maybe the unemployed can just sit around and hope for change. Surely the Democratic party can come up with a new slogan that will make everything better. They definitely aren't doing it through legislation.
