Appears to have taken LSU off his list.

Still wants to play RB and of course LSU will not consider him at RB.

Yeah Pratt was going thru the same thing from other schools who were trying to project him at LB, and LSU wanting him at RB was a big factor for him and why he committed to LSU.

Pratt seems to be a smoother runner than Conner, but thats really all I've noticed. I haven't seen much on either one of them.

That's a good way to describe it, but I think it is a pretty substantial difference.

Conner runs stiff, but I'd like to see him go to Miss St as he reminds me of their current back & could have success in a grind-it-out offense.

Evaluation
Conner is a physically gifted football player with a great blend of size and straight-line speed. Not a naturally fluid running back prospect with his height but could develop into a workhorse for a college program that employs heavy power-running schemes. A true north-south runner who is difficult to arm tackle when squares up his shoulder pads and runs downhill. More of a one-gear back but hits the hole fast and can be a load to bring down when he picks up momentum. Shows adequate shiftiness through traffic but prefers to follow his blocks, lower the shoulder and run through smaller defenders with superior upper and lower-body strength and power. Good yards after contact back and runs with deceptive balance despite his taller frame. Finishes runs and keeps his legs churning; the type of back that can wear down a defense and make smaller defensive backs think twice about coming up to tackle him when he reaches the second level. However, he is a bit straight-lined and lacks great lateral quickness to avoid defenders. Could struggle picking and sliding through traffic in zone schemes. Needs to consistently run with good body-tilt at the next level to remain productive after contact and avoid absorbing big hits. Lacks a second gear and burst when he finds an open seam and is not overly elusive in space. With that said, Conner is a tough, blue-collar competitor on the football field; if his skills do not develop on offense he could make one heck of a strong safety or outside linebacker. Great special teams potential as well.

Dexter Pratt

Evaluation
Pratt is not overly-flashy or explosive but he is a strong, consistent back that keeps coming at you and can wear down a defense. He is tall, thickly-built, well-proportioned and put together. Not an overly sudden runner, but shows good vision and patience letting his blocks set up until he finds the seam then hits it. Can hurt you as in-line runner with good strength and power or bounce it outside with deceptively good lateral quickness. Flashes sharp stop-start, change-of-direction and jump-cut skills to avoid initial traffic for a 220-pound back, but is most effective when he plants, accelerates downhill and runs through arm tackles with his great size and lower-body power. Good feel for the cutback lane and can hit it quick for a back with his bulk. Pad level and body-tilt is great and you can't coach his leg drive and determination finishing runs. Lacks a second gear and great burst but can build up good speed in the second level. Good hands as a route runner and is savvy setting up the screen game. Our main issue when projecting for the next level is his lack of top-end speed and good acceleration, but his yards after contact production should continue as his body only gets bigger and stronger. Loses a bit in transition when cutting in the openfield and we would like to see him run more north-south and decisive at times. Bottom line, this kid is a future workhorse and blends rare power-back qualities with good foot-quickness and smooth movement skills between the tackles. Might need to be fed the rock a lot to be most productive at the next level, but is the type of runner who can carry an offense.
