Looks like Tennessee and Auburn are not getting their money's worth. LSU, Georgia, and Florida are. And Alabama is getting a steal of a bargain.

I'd imagine the big numbers for Tenn are a result of their having to recruit so heavily outside the state. Same thing with Auburn, to a degree. Bama, LSU, Fla can all take a large % of their recruits from in state (or close proximity anyway).

The guys are doing a four part series on this. They've had a few updates on their AL.com page....

Alabama's is low because it does not include funds directly given to recruits!

Yeah, you definately gotta keep the cars and houses and "boats and hoes" off the books.

Yea, thats it right there. Top dolla geaux's to flight time and salaried positions. Closers don't come cheap to an Athletic Department, nor does rent a flight. Park a Gulfstream or two with :geaux: on the side and you are gonna reach out and touch a kid while working on a long term budget which compliments the needs for every University team.

Skip said it best; "If I was the AD, I would do whatever it takes for the coach to recruit, because recruitment is everything. You either have the best athletes or you don't."

Seems though that Tennessee's spending= a whole lot of begging.

Nice quote, but he apparently wasn't putting his money where he mouth was where his own sport was concerned. I'm really surprised to see where baseball was pre-Mainieri.
