Nobody has Willis going much higher than about 20th. Most have him later than that (mid 20s). That bodes well for the Saints. I still think we could trade away our extra 3rd round pick that we got from Philly (I am convinced they will sign Stallworth) in exchange to move up enough spots to nab Willis. That's how good I think Willis will be and we can't pass on the chance at getting him if we have the chance.

I'm no draft expert, but from what I saw at the Ole Miss game I wouldn't pass on him if I needed a LB. I'd probably trade up for him.

Also drafts never go as the experts see them.

"With the first pick of the 2006 NFL draft the Houston Texans pick Mario Williams" :hihi:

Sadly for him, I think its because he is buried in a pretty bad Ole Miss football program. And this is why the rich get richer and poor get poorer in college football when it comes to recruiting.

Put this guy at Ohio State and tell me if he isn't a top 5-10 pick in the draft.

I would love Landry or Nelson as well. I think if they would happen to fall that low for whatever reason Payton would scoop them up.

I think out of all the positions that are need positions (LB, FS, DB, DT, TE, WR) that we would pick any one of those positions if someone we have high on our board is mysteriously hanging around when the Saints get their pick. That includes a wideout. If someone like a Simardja (prototype possession receiver with great size) is still around, we will pick them.

I kinda hope not. I have a felling that before long, he'll be a full time baseball player. Once he realizes how much tima and effort it's gonna take to do both, he'll have to chose one. He has already signed a garaunteed contract to play baseball, so my guess is that's gonna be his choice.

neither do i. and hes shown the inability to get separation from good corners consistently. When he was roughed up even with LSU's nickel guys he became frustrated. keep that scrub off the saints.

willis is super fast and a hard hitter and the saints would steal him if they are able to get him that far down. he is considered small i suppose but hes a bigger sam mills imo. i dont think theres any way he drops down in the 20s. if so, payton would definitely grab him. hes known as a very high character guy in miss. involved in all kinds of community service stuff. payton type guy so to speak. not that samarjistan freak. NO!

he'll be gone in the top 15 picks i would imagine. id trade up to get him if i could.

top need is cornerback. the safeties are young and will be fine in time. both are talented but just need experience. better corners would take a lot of pressure off of them.

after that, id go DT but willis would be the guy in my sights during round 1 despite need. hes just the complete package you hope for. very similar to demeco ryans come to think of it who i loved in last years draft. forgot what crap college ryans went to. some team with that lying coach maybe.
