how does someone get "in-game experience" if they never get a shot to get on the field?

i ask the same question when i try out for the olympic swim team. they tell me they are a serious team that doesnt train untalented rookies. its like they are selective and want to win or something! dudes let a brother in the pool in london so i can show what i can do! ignore the fact that i have never played the sport.

bro, the LSU football team is not a middle school football team. they are maybe the best college football team on earth. you have to be really really really damn good to make the team. soccer girls are not good enough and there is no real advantage in teaching then to kick.

That's the beauty of a one-day tryout. You (the coaching staff) doesn't have to expend any real energy or use up any resources to allow students one opportunity to demonstrate that they might have enough athletic ability to warrant a more serious tryout. She has already demonstrated the ability to make a 40-yard field goal, albeit without a defense rushing and with no one in the stands. LSU has put many a kicker on the field over the years who couldn't do that in a real game. And they've already seen her kick once. If there was no ability there, Miles wouldn't allow her another shot.

BTW, the Saints once decided to try and "train" an "untalented rookie." Actually, he wasn't untalented, just inexperienced; never played a down of college, or even high school, football. He did have a talent, though; he could run fast. The Saints gave him a shot, and Michael "beerman" Lewis ended up becoming a Pro Bowl return specialist. Vision and imagination generally win out over cynicism.

i can kick a 40 yard FG with ease. so can thousands and thousands of high school kickers. this is like is like saying i should get a tryout with cirque de solei because i can juggle. you dont seem to understand that the real kickers that play for LSU are not idiots. they re guys who are all state kickers from their high schools with years of experience and the ability to easily nail 50 yard plus kicks.

i know and those guys were kicking a hell of a lot longer than 40 in practice. if you are kicking 40 in practice, you are missing from 20 in games.

there is no ability there and he is giving her another shot. kicking rm 40 in practice does not count as ability. again, we are talking about a top 5 program here. this is a program where literally the best high school kicker on earth would want to come play.

also not true. he played in high school, and semi pro, indoor and arena football. he also had gone to training camp with the eagles and played in NFL europe before appearing in saints games. i dunno why you just made that up. he had shit tons of in game experience whereas she has zero, and is a girl with no leg.

again, its a publicity stunt and she has exactly zero chance to make the team. i dunno why you would every say otherwise.

that is a very stupid thing to say, especially in the context of this discussion. you clearly realize she has no chance, even if she has more "vision and imagination" than anyone in history. you dont seem to grasp the concept. as i have said so many times. she cant kick. get that through your head.

Martin, I know she has no chance to make it. Even if she happens to kick better than anyone else who shows up, she still can't beat out the guy who's already there. So if she's serious, she's going to get a hard lesson. And if its just for publicity, well, I'd rather have that than the publicity we were getting this time last year.

    Hey, check this guy out:
    http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticl...DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=204967270&Q_SEASON=2012

Tabari Williams, a 5'7, 167 pound running back. Now in his third year on the LSU team. Can you picture this guy ever beating out Ware, Ford, Hilliard, Blue, or Hill? He won't, and I'll be he knows he won't. So does Miles. So why's he even allowed on the team? I don't know, do you?

Why does this whole thing piss you off so much?

presumably that guy helps out in practice.

lets do each other a favor and not play the "why are you so angry?" game. nobody is pissed at anything. i am correcting you when you say things that are incorrect.

and i would rather be punched in the arm than the face. being better than something bad doesnt make something worthwhile. its a stupid point.

What most folks fail to grasp is that Isom wasn't even that great at Soccer. She was the best player on an average team, but was not one of the elite goalies in the game. Does she really expect me to think that an average girl's soccer player is good enough to compete with the very best kickers in college football?

This chick is either really dumb or really into herself.

Yeah, my big blunder in this thread is that I somehow ended up arguing that she might actually make the team. No chance of that happening. My only point is that she has the right to try. If the only qualifier for being allowed to try out is that the coach must believe you're good enough to make it, then there's no need for tryouts; just give anyone who shows up a jersey. But I'm willing to bet that there will be a number of dudes that show up on tryout day that have no shot. Mo shouldn't be denied the same right those guys will get just because she doesn't need a jockstrap.

Bitches never trust other bitches. Which keeps us guys off the hook a lot of times. Erin Andrews couldnt effectively rig a pinochle game much less a hoax of this magnitude. Yet, some think she staged this? Surely you know she could never do this. Plus she would have had a better dance move than that silly shit she did naked. Not that I watched it or anything.

She does not have a perfect ass as its too bony but she is hot. Bud Lee would not approve --which isnt necessarily a bad thing. And since women always think the prettiest women are ones who resemble them, I will surmise you have a similar ass since you think hers is perfect.

And you're also probably a blonde due to my same theory.
