i think i should be given a tryout anyways. wouldnt hurt. you say i cant, but if i can i should be given a chance like anyone else. for the record i do genuinely believe that would make a better kicker than issom, but i also have the strongest legs of any male under 200 pounds of anyone i have ever met. again, i wonder if you guys have ever actually played sport against a woman you thought was fast or strong. they are really on a different level. keep in mind that the WNBA has had 6 dunks in its history, whereas high school males are routinely blasting insane jams on a nightly basis. anyways, back to the topic.
I can tell you that I have played 1 on 1 with the best girl on the girl's basketball team at my high school and beat her. I can also tell you I was not good enough to play on the boy's team at my school. Thing is that I am 5'11" 185 lbs and she was probably 5'8" 150 pounds so if she missed a shot there was no way she was going to get a second chance, I got every single rebound. Kicking, however, is as much art as it is athletic, which is why you see guys who are 45 years old and can't kick it from 50 anymore still make rosters.
agree entirely. is football a meritocracy or isnt it? not sure i said that exactly. again, i wish her the best. my only real point is that she cant kick and this is not really about football, its about publicity. i guess if you want publicity thats great. some teams might prefer to stick to football, and that is ok as well.
Have you said those words exactly, probably not. I don't feel like going back and parsing all of your words. You've certainly been implying it.
all of that is true. take whatever skill you believe makes a good kicker, athleticism/coordination over pure strength, whatever, women dont have it. thats why they dont even make women play against men in billiards or curling or non-contact sports where the normal advantages are nuetralized. there is really one sport where women come closest to men, and that is ultrarunning. women are quite capable of massive endurance, and women can perfrom quite well in 100 mile races where the distance is so long that the race is run at a very slow pace. this doesnt happen until you get to like 80 plus miles though. of course they are still relatively awful and men dominate, but thats the thing they are best at.
sports is the arena that is most fair. in general, if you are poor or whatever race or stupid or an ass or whateve, doesnt matter. if you can run with the ball, a team will hire you. and this is more and more true as you go more towards the elites. thats why sport is so great, its very honest. except when they do publicity stunts like sign manute bol to play hockey or try women out to kick. its not a big deal, again, i like her, she seems very charming and is exceedingly hot. cant kick though, not for a real team like LSU. there are some tiny art schools in brooklyn she might could kick for. but that is because the entire student body is gay hipsters who hates sports.
I can't agree with you more on your point, but yet again you go and take this to a "women vs men" generality statement when we're pretty much talking about the "best" woman (can I prove that? no, but find me a better one) at what she's trying to do and then we're comparing her to guys who are backup kickers on a college football team. Can the best female placekicker in the world beat out the worst NFL kicker? No. Can she beat out even the top 50% of college kickers? Don't think so. But we're not taking about Michelle Wie or Annika Sorenstam trying (and completely failing) to compete in a men's tournament. We're talking about the "best" female that is competing against an "above average" at best lot of guys. Your point is completely right, but it's just not applicable in this situation and just comes off as an off-topic rant.
no we are not. no idea who told you that the "best" female FG kicker around is mo issom. other schools have soccer players too, with far better players. LSU is not an elite soccer school. also we are not talking about chump idiot guys either. we are talking about one of the top 5 college football teams on earth. people who kick for LSU are really good. high school elites that were often the best in the the state in high school, better than thousands and thousands of other guys who are also pretty good. again, LSU is a real team, not a sideshow. with real players who have been kicking since they were tiny kids, with thousands and thousands of hours of practice and hundreds of kicks in high school including high pressure game winners.
