They said that Jamarcus Russell could throw it 70 yards while kneeling . . . but he couldn't spell "playbook".

I remember the guys talking about that on one of the halftime shows, and Ditka said something to the effect of "Well, when you need to call that play, put him in." Thought it was funny.

Nobody is saying that. The point was that Mett could have thrown the ball farther if he wanted to, given his arm strength.

The 2nd throw was left handed and it appeared to go about 40 yds.

I'm not exactly sure that that is the point, but I hope that is true.

And yes on the left handed part.

I beleive Perriloux had quite the arm as well. Remember reading some recruiting diary story where it claimed he threw it close to 90. As with JaMarcus, arm strength does not directly correlate to common sense.

I heard two commentators talking about Roman Gabriel's arm years ago. One guy said he saw him throw a football to someone on a sixth floor balcony. The other guy said "Yeah, but his receiver was on the fourth floor."

While Zach was at UGA, he used to fool around with Stafford, Gray, and Cox seeing who could throw the ball through the uprights from the other side of mid-field. Only he and Stafford could get it through there, but Zach said Stafford could do it flat-footed.

To me, his strength is his velocity. He looks like he's throwing darts sometimes. Hard for a DB to react to a ball that's only in the air briefly.

why is this relevant when thousands and thousands of males can also do it much better.

maybe if she can punch kinda hard she should box men. maybe if she can sorta jump she should try out for the NBA.

not sure when it became an impressive skill to be able to kick kinda far once in a while. thousands of male high school kids do it every day.

my impression of jamarcus was the he had the strongest arm to ever play high level football, the previous champ being jeff george, who had a howitzer.

jamarcus of course was just unprecedented in terms of size at the position.

She told me today that her longest FG so far is 51 yds and her longest kickoff is to the 5. The girl has some talent.
