TAKE THAT MONTANA, YOUNG, RICE AND THE REST OF SAN FRANNIES ON YOUR LITTLE HALL OF FAME NIGHT!

That come back was sooo wonderful to watch afterall the times SF did it to us in the past. SWEET! I am going to find a San Francisco phone and start dialing random people up and give them a reminder of what just happened, a Saints victory!!!!

Couldn't agree more. I was thinking exact same thing. All those times in the late 80's when we get SO close, only to have SF win at the end.

Is it just me or did Alex Smith look like a right handed Steve Young last night? Is New Orleans defense hurting or has this kid improved a hell of alot?

I think it's a little of both. We weren't able to get much pressure on him all night, and he picked us apart. Of course, they were doing ALOT of 3 step drops to get rid of the ball in a hurry and I thought we'd make an adjustment at halftime, but he looks a lot better than any other time I've seen him.

Thing is though, no matter how poorly we played, we're still finding ways to win. That's the mark of a championship team. It won't be like that the whole year, hopefully, unless other people start getting hurt. Injuries and free agency are the 2 reasons most SB champions don't repeat.

See that's the difference between college and the pro's. you won't hear anyone bitch when your NFL team wins ugly. I thought it was a great win. On the road, windy, great defense, monday night, great crowd, niners already lost 1 game in a division they were expected to win. Now they have 1 division loss and 2 conference losses.

I really hate to say this, but the Saints need to win home field advantage throughout the playoffs. This team isn't built to win in the elements late in the season, i'm not saying they can't win, but i see them getting knocked out of the playoffs if they have to travel to cold weather in the playoffs.

There's a couple of reasons for that. 1st and foremost, it's because the NFL champion is decided on the field. Style points are not needed like they are when you have voters deciding the fate of your team, like in college. 2nd, there's very little disparity of talent in the NFL than there is when it's a top tier SEC school versus a DII directional school.

In the words of the immortal Al Davis, the NFL the motto is 'Just Win Baby'.

Had this been a day game, I woulda been there, like I was 3 years ago when we whupped dey @sses.

Have probably been to 10 Saints games out here in my 30+ years out here, that was GREAT.

LOVE giving crap to all my Niners buddies out here.

I actually think that kick woulda been wide left had dude not deflected it.

    But it's still a W boys....

Another reason- for every ugly win the Saints have they counter with several dominant wins. If the Saints won ugly every week, even against the Rams and Raiders of the NFL, you would hear some complaining.

Possibly, but they would be from bandwagon fans who only got interested in the Saints last year or those that don't know the NFL.
