Has anyone tried the MLB package over the internet?
Just curious how well that works?

I have. Usually order by the month. Might want to try it for just a game or two at first. I do know this, if you order it on a monthly basis and when you decide to cancel, you have let MLB know that you want to cancel. If not, they will automatically charge you every month until you let them know otherwise.

It certainly beats missing the game if you don't have the right TV pkg. The picture is not as clear as on TV, but it's not bad. Sometimes you get the "other team's" TV crew though.

I have to disagree with this one. Alex Gonzalez has pretty good range at shortstop. Lowell is one of the better defensive 3rd basemen in the game today. He won a gold glove last year. Loretta's range may not be great, but he seldom gets fooled. His first reaction always seems to be the right one. Youkilis is better than expected at first. Now for the outfield. Nixon is definitely a guy with a small amount of range, but he makes up for it with a pretty good arm. Coco Crisp can run down fly balls with any one oher than Andruw Jones. Manny looks silly at times, but he plays the quirky left field at fenway better than anyone has in a while.

Come on out and beat the Mets! Red Sox Sweep! Their 4th straight sweep!

Sox have won 12 straight and broke the AL error-free consecutive games record and tied the MLB record at 16.

Did anyone see that 8th inning catch by Coco? That not only saved the game, but probably the web jem catch of the year. [IMG]

That was a great catch. But I think his baserunning in the bottom of the 7th was even more crucial. A bunt single, a stolen base, advanced to 3rd on a sac fly, then scored on a sac fly to give his team the lead. That was HUGE.

The bottom 7th was classic NL, I mean AL ball. Perfect execution. :hihi:

i too have to disagree with this one. anytime a team ties or breaks an existing record such as this then you have to take notice, especially in the american league where the pitches don't bat. sometimes the perception becomes the reality, but this sox team really is great defensively. to say it would be a farce is a bit too extreme, given that fenway is certainly a hitters park.

i am gonna side with tirk on this one. the sox are middle of the pack on defensive efficiency rating. plus i think errors is a sort of random stat to try to apply to actual defensive performance, and errorless games in a row is even more random than total errors.

defensive stats are complicated to figue, what with range factors for every player and pitcher/park factors and whatnot. i dont understand it all i just watch players play and they either look good or they dont. coco crisp making that crazy catch, that is impressive. errorless games in a row record? neat, but less impressive.

havent you learned to listen to me yet, martian? mets are gonna win 2 of 3 from the yanks so no worries.

also, i was being semi-sarcastic about the sox. they are pretty good defensively, just nothing special with the abortion of manram in left. crisp is pretty good but nothing close to the 2nd best cf. lowell is decent but loretta and youkilis are average.

without Glavine or Pedro, the Yanks will slam the Mets

With that being said, I don't necessarily think the Mets will lose, just that it'll be some high-scoring games
