hard to say a steal with 11th overall pick but he may be the best hitter of them all. a switch hitting first basemen much like mark teixeira whom I am glad to see leave the sec. the giants are going to have a hard time signing alvarez.
Re: mlb draft I don't think signability was an issue with Alvarez...at least not the reason they took him. Agent is Boras. Pirates will finally have to pay up for a draft pick.
