not sure what the plans are, but he "could" be great in middle/long relief. Only problem is the inconsistancy of a knuckleball. Some nights, it just ain't there. And you would hat to put him in a 2 run ball game in the 6th with a bad knuckler (high with no movement), only for him to give up 5-6 runs. Leaving you with only 2 or 3 innings to make up that difference.
the initial waves in the Bonds to the Rays talk has started. http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/11170/20080814/sabean_rays_should_sign_bonds/
or a power hitter being put on a non-power hitting team. They won't win the World Series as-is. No way. Why not roll the dice and take a chance?
no, their bullpen is the best in all of the bigs. Howell, Balfour and Wheeler can handle it from the 7th inning on. No worries. It's their offense that appears to be on the verge of heading into the tank. Matt Garza pitching a no-no at Texas thru 4 innings. That's crazy.
yes but with a young team losing two of its stars and the leader in the clubhouse all factor in. once that mindset is in, they could spiral. lets hope not. the yanks need to RIP as usual.
