Just not excited about Missouri. I wish they would have gone to the big 10 like they wanted to. Since we are stuck with them I hope they stay in the East.

agreed, i don't see how adding A&M and Mizzou makes this a stronger football conference, maybe basketball, but in my opinion completely waters down the football conference.

The SEC will now have an expanded physical presence that includes Texas and Missouri. More TV markets, etc. It's a good move financially, setting up for the next round of contract talks for TV rights.

It's about money. Mizzou adds two huge TV markets -- Kansas City and St. Louis.

And its about not adding another top-tier contender. The SEC needed more Kentuckebilts, not more contenders like Oklahoma, Texas, or FSU. Competition in the SEC upper tier is cut-throat already with LSU, Bama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Arkansas and Carolina competitive every season. State and A&M ain't exactly slouches, either.

The guys on JOX-94 (bama) just said they've learned by Twitter that the SEC will go to a 9-game conference schedule to preserve the "rivalry games."

The SEC will go to an 9-game schedule with A&M and Mizzou being each others permanent cross-division opponent. All other teams will retain their permanent cross-division opponent, meaning LSU is stuck with Florida forever.

Worse, we lose an OOC opponent meaning we won't be having big-name matchups anymore. We will only be able to schedule teams that won't ask for a return visit.

Worse still, every other year each team will have to play 5 SEC road games.

Pastides: SEC schools will now play nine conference football games
