:geaux: Here they come, it's official. Who's gonna be their permanent crossover opponent from the west, R-Kansas or aTm? www.columbiatribune.com/news/2011/nov/06/sec-officially-adds-missouri/?tigerextra
I believe the official word on Mizzou's division location was "initially in the east". So nothing is set in stone for a long period. They'll place them in the east to even it out and buy the SEC more time to figure out things without drastically redoing all schedules in less than a year's time.
If they continue to an "East/West" format, I honestly believe Auburn will eventually shift to the east, remain the cross-division rival of Bama and UGA (their CURRENT cross-division rival) by virtue of being in the same division.
Gotta wonder if they are eyeing any other acquisitions for the next couple years to get to 16... if so, then they will hold off on the shuffle. The SEC is really in the worst position in this whole expansion craze. The SEC has to add teams who will not take away from the quality of their product. The other conferences are just adding teams to survive.
Word I heard is Arkansas will be. Since they are only 2 or so hours apart. Border states etc. They are going to try to hype up Arkansas and Mizzou as rivals and make us be Rivals with A&M. Which really does make logistical sense. I suspect end of the day our thanksgiving game will be A&M in the near future and the hogs Mizzou. Which is fine with me, If I have to never go to Little Rock and that dump of a stadium again I will be happy. Which by the way most Hog fans hate as well
